Plot

1957

Santa Soledad, Southern Chile

Co-Cai attacks Lee and Keiko, destroying the house they were going inside in the process, as the latter had kicked a Sea Scarab. The two get up from the rubble, and watch the Titan, who reunites with the Scarabs. Co-Cai calms down and moves along, her children now with her. Keiko photographs the Titan, lamenting that Billy missed witnessing it. The villagers come out of their houses with lanterns. Lee realises that he lost his gun in the rubble, and two try to fet away from the approaching natives. Suddenly, Tomás appears from behind them and Augustín from the front. The rest of the villagers followed the two. Tomás demands the outsiders to hand over their camera. Lee tells her to give it but Keiko does not comply, asserting that the villagers would not let them leave either way. Lucía advices the two to do as told. Seeing their incompetence, Lucía tells Augustín that no one would believe them if they let them as is. He retorts that somebody will, and that more outsiders would visit the island to verify the claims and photos. He tells the villagers that their land will be defiled by nonbelievers. The crowd agrees, as Tomás once again asks for the camera. Augustín says that the defilement would make Co-Cai distance itself from the village, and they're livelihood would be severely affected. Then, Tomás launches toward Keiko with his knife in an attempt to grab the camera. He doesn't but slashes the woman's arm. Lee attacks the cult leader, takes his knife and threatens the crowd by holding it near his neck. Lee and Keiko make a run for it after the momentary distraction, with the villagers following them into the forest.

Port of Tokyo

Outpost 18 is docked at the port for repairs. Cate was leaving the place, when May catches and asks if she was going out for eating food. Cate corrects her, saying she needs to go home. May asks her why she was leaving without informing anyone. Cate felt that she didn't belong there and only causes trouble. May tells her that she has purpose, but Cate rejects that thought. She says that her dad's work fooled her into thinking Monarch was her legacy, which May insists is, saying that Cate has looked at Godzilla in the eye and survived Axis Mundi. Cate retorts by bringing up the backlash she would get when people find out her being the reason behind Co-Cai's activity. She thinks leaving is best for everyone. Upset, May says it's not best for her, and walks away to the ship.

Outpost 18

Shaw, Keiko, Hiroshi, Kentaro and Tim are holding a discussion in the flag bridge. The latter asks him how long it would take for the outpost to mobilize. Tim says that the damage to the its engines xan not be known until the engineers arrive. He then says that Godzilla hasn't made any major appearance in three years and now they are dealing with a loose Titan for the first time; Director Barris and the rest of the board want to keep things under wraps to avoid panic. Shaw asks how could they even hide a Titan, just then, Hiroshi and Keiko propose an alternative. The latter says they could lead Co-Cai to where they want it to go. Hiroshi adds, away from population centers, while they work on a strategy to deal with the Titan. It had turned to foow them because the stowaway Scarab emitted a sound, which it responded to. Hiroshi believed he could reconfigure the emitter coils on a Suzuki device to emulate the frequency. Kentaro says that Kong had destroyed them model they had, but Hiroshi admits possessing another one, a prototype, in his workshop in Tokyo, just outside Shibuya. Tim is amazed and says they could being it to the Southern Ocean, though he wasn't sure what next. Shaw advises focusing on one thing at a time. Just then Templeton enters the room and tells Tim to come to the command center.

Employees of Apex Cybernetics had come to Outpost 18 and were setting up their equipment and connecting it to the outposts' tech to get command override access to the whole system. Tim approaches the leader. The man guessed him to be 'Tom'. Tim corrects him. They shake hands and the man introduced himself as Jason Trissop, head of special projects from Apex Cybernetics. Tim, confused, says Apex wasn't expected here. Trissop says that he hopped on a chopper as soon as learned there was a Titan on the loose. Tim asks if they were upgrading the outpost's sensor systems, to which Trissop says it is sort of. He tells him they were developing an ultra long-wave sonar system that can piggyback to the outpost's arrays and extend fheir range and sensitivity; this was the best chance they had at finding the loose Titan. Tim understands and politely asks him to try to stay out of his team's operation. Trissop corrects him, saying that since Outpost 18's crew had lost the trail of Co-Cai, his team had been granted operation control of the ship on a temporary basis. Tim couldn't make sense of that and says he'll contact Director Barris about this change for he felt it was not right. Trissop tells him to give the director his regards.
