Yuggoth is the name for Pluto used by the fungoid species called the Mi-Go, which also use it as a temporary outpost, in H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos.
Design
Appearance
Yuggoth is a gigantic, humanoid creature covered in numerous fungal growths, with two arms ending in spike-like claws. It is capable of switching between bipedal and quadrupedal locomotion, using its clawed arms as forelimbs in the latter circumstance. It also has no discernible face, eyes, nostrils, or jaws.
Roar
The roars of Yuggoth are written as "huuuuuurrrrrah".
Personality
Yuggoth is an incredibly aggressive Titan that uses the spores it produces to infect and turn other creatures into enslaved thralls to serve its will. Upon sensing the ecological rift left in the wake of the Kraken's death, Yuggoth emerged from beneath the Earth to challenge Kong and claim dominion over Skull Island for itself. It is also implied to be highly intelligent and can formulate strategies.
Yuggoth ambushes and kills Kong's hawk companion shortly after the Kraken's death. It eventually emerges on Skull Island and produces huge amounts of spores to infect and enslave its inhabitants, which transforms them into mindless and loyal thralls. Yuggoth answers Kong's challenge and waits for the Alpha Titan on the summit of a mountain. Yuggoth knocks Kong down when the latter tries to attack and attempts to infect him with its spores. However, Kong tears one of Yuggoth's limbs off, causing it to fall into a crevice.
Yuggoth regenerates its missing limb and reemerges on Skull Island as it senses the Iwi's plan to move to the far side of the island. Yuggoth then rallies its thralls to cut the Iwi off and draw Kong out. Yuggoth and its thralls proceed to attack the escaping Iwi before battling a fully recovered Kong. Kong manages to defeat Yuggoth by throwing it down to a seemingly bottomless chasm with the help of his human allies' explosives.
After surviving the fall, Yuggoth went back to the Hollow Earth and started corrupting more creatures to prepare for its next attack on Skull Island.
Yuggoth eventually returns to Skull Island with its army as it resumes spreading its influence on the island's environments and inhabitants.
Yuggoth and its army confront Kong as a storm brews on Skull Island. Yuggoth sends its thralls to overwhelm Kong, only for the latter's human allies to arrive and join the battle. Kong is about to use the flaming sword he acquired to attack Yuggoth, but the sword is revealed as a part of Yuggoth and is slowly infecting Kong. Kong's human allies distract Yuggoth, freeing Kong from being controlled and allowing him to drive the sword through Yuggoth before seemingly killing the fungoid Titan by cleaving it in two.
Abilities
Durability
Yuggoth can still survive after Kong tears one of its limbs off and falls into a crevice.
Regeneration
Yuggoth regenerated its broken limb after Kong tore it off. It is unknown if it can regenerate after Kong uses a flaming sword to cleave it in two.
Shapeshifting
Like Amhuluk, Yuggoth can change its form to suit its current circumstances. When Yuggoth first emerged onto Skull Island, it took the form of a massive tar pit. Yuggoth was able to form this tar into an appendage, which it used to grab and pull Kong's hawk companion companion out of the sky. Yuggoth transformed into a tar pit again during its return to Skull Island following its first defeat by Kong.
Speed
Yuggoth can move as fast as Kong.
Spore production
Yuggoth can produce massive quantities of spores that are capable of infecting and enthralling other creatures to serve its will. Larger and more powerful creatures, such as Kong, however, are more resistant to the spores' influence. It also uses the flaming sword it left behind as an extension of itself that can potentially infect Kong.
Strength and combat
Yuggoth can use its arms to grab and drag other creatures around effortlessly, such as Kong's hawk companion. It is also capable of trading blows with Kong himself.
Yuggoth's physiology as a humanoid fungus is similar to that of Matango from the 1963Toho film Matango while its ability to take command of other monsters is very similar to Zoospora.
