godzilla
Overview

Bunyip, also dubbed Titanus Bunyip, is a giant Titan in the MonsterVerse created by Legendary Pictures who was introduced in the 2019 film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, as a name briefly seen on a monitor.

Name

In Aboriginal Australian folklore, the "Bunyip" is a legendary amphibious monster with various descriptions that lurks in rivers, lakes, and swamps.

History

Godzilla: King of the Monsters

At some point, Monarch discovered Bunyip in Uluru (also known as Ayers Rock), Australia and built Outpost 99 to monitor it.

When King Ghidorah calls all the Titans to awaken and begin rampaging under his command, Bunyip breaks free and begins to hunt with its new pack. During the Castle Bravo meeting, the digital world map indicates Bunyip has moved northwest into the Karlamilyi National Park of Western Australia.[1] The USS Argo's world map later indicates that Bunyip has since moved further northeast of there, arriving on the northern Australian coastline around the Gove Peninsula[2] just before the ORCA calls all Titans to Boston. Bunyip does not arrive in time for the battle and does not see Godzilla become the alpha of all Titans again.
